In your estimation, what are the best outdoor activities to enjoy in Coastal Delaware?

The beach (of course), our trail systems, and our world-renowned state parks.

Where is your favorite local spot to visit on a hot summer day? On a cold winter day?

On a hot day, I love to go to the Big Chill Beach Club in Delaware Seashore State Park. The view is incredible, and it’s a great place to relax. On a cold day, I love going to any of the downtown Rehoboth Beach restaurants to have a meal. Winter is “locals' time”, and it’s a great way to reconnect with the community during these chilly months.

What makes Coastal Delaware different from the other beach areas along the Mid-Atlantic?

Our state takes pride in keeping our beaches some of the cleanest around. Delaware understands the importance of our beaches and bays not only for the economy and tourism but also for our wildlife preservation and being a good friend to nature. Plus, our beaches are free (aside from state park entry fees) and don’t require beach passes! Our food and restaurant scene is unparalleled and on par with many metropolitan areas. It continues to get better each and every year. We are so lucky to live here!

Given your experience in the field, what are the top factors which attract buyers to our area?

I find that a lot of buyers are first intrigued by low taxes and living close to the beach. But once they really come to understand the area, they find it is so much more than that. There is an overall feeling of happiness and community in our area, a truly slower-paced, relaxed way of life. Clients tend to feel like they have figured out the secret after moving here and can’t believe their good fortune!
