To ensure that every Delaware resident and business has access to high-speed internet service, in 2021 Governor John Carney announced the Delaware Broadband Initiative's Infrastructure Grant. Three companies, Comcast, Verizon, and Mediacom, responded to this grant and will extend their existing coverage areas to serve more than 11,600 Delaware homes and businesses which do not have access to high-speed, wired broadband service.
